It's no secret that all shades of blue are my favorite color. Just take a look around this here site! I was beyond thrilled when Pantone announced 2020 would be the year of Classic Blue.

With a name like "Classic Blue" , this years choice is less exotic than colors of previous years. This hue is easy , accessible,  and identifiable.  

Expect to see Classic blue demonstrated in everything from nail polish to a toaster oven. 

I'm certain you have this classic color hanging in your wardrobe. It's a hue that works with just about every Style Personality particularly when matched up with your Signature Color. I really love to see it paired with corals and greens. The combo is grounding and encouraging- great to wear when you day going to be tough.

Prints that are reminiscent of vacationing are trending for Spring. As color is the emotion of a wardrobe, prints are the voice. Out of all the trending prints for Spring 2019, I've identified your key print for your Style Personality:  

 Gingham should be a basic in the Spring wardrobe of the Classic Woman. The black and white print is easy to pair with the tempered hues in her wardrobe. Push the boundaries and wear a gingham dress with a tomato red blazer at a Summer work conference.

Tie-Dye is having a 3rd wave revival. The very hippie print matches the easy-going temperament of the Comfort Woman. Try it out on a casual pull-over paired with shorts and chic sandals for a weekend getaway.  

Florals for spring are nothing new for a Feminine Style Personality. Instead of a pastel floral that is ordinarily obvious, this floral print is more romance than sweet. Try on a rose motif shoe for a holiday weekend celebration. 

Motifs of paisley, ditsy florals, and potpourri of patterns are usually reserved for silk scarfs. Now blown to full proportions, try wearing this print on a chic blouse and matching shorts on a warm spring night. 

The color of cheer, joy, and optimism yellow in all variations is the color of Spring 2019. For the serious temperaments, this upbeat hue can be a bit off-putting.  Particularly if your wardrobe is compose of lots of black. However! Watercolor prints are perfect for the Classic Style Personality. The splashes of yellow are perfectly balance by shades of  black, cobalt, and a coral.  The dress  wears will with a navy cardigan and sandals to ground the dress. This will become a go-look for springtime celebrations. 

Try on a yellow plaid short if you're a Comfort Style Personality! Matched with a basic white tank, denim jacket, and slides, this will become a favorite outfit for a Saturday brunch on the patio.

Marigold is bring the sunshine to the Feminine Woman! This tiered sundress is matched with a bubblegum pink cardigan and grosgrain tie espadrilles. A Feminine's Spring wardrobe must feature florals..a statement necklace and earrings adds the whimsy.  

The yellow mixed media skirt is the star of this outfit! The Sexy Woman can get away with mixing black and yellow..with a slight nod to a bumble bee. Texture is an element in style that is highly underappreciated. While color speaks to emotion, texture speaks to personality. An all black outfit in a flat fabric is instantly elevated  to sexy and chic when done with leather and fringe. Here's how to make the Textures of  Spring  2019  your own by your Style Personality: 

Next to a strand of pearls, nothing is as timeless as lace. It's sophisticated and sensual without being sexy when paired on tailored silhouettes and can be worn as a day-time staple.  As a Classic Style Personality, you'll look fantastic when you update your suiting with a lace blouse or pair up a lace pump with a simple sheath dress.  Be sure to look for lace in your signature hue on your next shopping excursion. 

Your childhood dream has come true! It you're a Feminine Style Personality, now is the time to dress as a ballerina princess in this uber romantic fabric. Pair your tulle pieces with structured items to keep the look from being too ingenue. Pair up a tulle skirt with a tailored blazer and kitten heels. For just a touch of tulle, lookout for accessories and embellishment on basic pieces.

Fringe sways to the beat of the Sexy Woman's walk! This embellished fabric shouts excitement and confidence of the Sexy Style Personality. Fringe details on shoes in a bright color are the perfect accompaniment for a sleek white pant. Try out an all-over fringe skirt with a crisp white blouse for work. 

Crochet brings up memories leisure and comfort; the perfect texture for the Comfort Woman.  The ease of crochet provides the perfect sensibility for your Style Personality while invoking interest. Team up a crochet maxi skirt with a bleached denim  jacket and basic tee for a casual work day. On the weekends, a crochet flat is great with your favorite shorts and tank matched to a belt bag.

When my clients learn their Style Personality, they immediately identify the items in their closet that do not align and understand why their favorite outfit is their favorite. it's all about a CONSISTENT FEELING. An emotion that determines your shopping choices. It's not situational and dependent on an occasion. 
Sure, most women want to feel sexy on a date and polished at work and experience comfort on the weekend. Those are occasional emotions and not outflowing from who you are at your core. Your authentic Style Personality is  a reflection of your overall approach to life. 

Here are some examples: 

A Sexy Woman is bold. She's assertive in all areas of her life. She was raised as an only child or the eldest.

- You wear a lot of stilettos and open-toed shoes.

- You experiment with your hair styles and nail hues.

The Comfort Woman is all about feeling relaxed and looking
casual. Athletic details such as hoodies and joggers in plush fabrics are this Style Personality's go-to items. The Comfort Woman was the first Style Personality to embrace athleisure and will live in leggings long after the trend has past. Shades of blue tend to compose the majority of color in her wardrobe followed by hues with a hazy fade. She is drawn to stripes and prints that feature a beachy element.  The Comfort Woman can be confused with the the Classic, as they both prefer simplicity in their clothes. 

How to know you are a Comfort Woman
- You prefer pants and jeans over dresses and skirts. 
-Boots and wedges are your version of heels.
- You own a favorite sweater, jacket, or scarf  that you wear several times a week. 
- Your skincare routine is extensive while your makeup is minimal. 
-Your wardrobe is composed of knit fabrics with a bit of stretch.  
- Your go-to brands are: Vince, Rag & Bone, James Perse, Everlane

The Feminine Woman is all about feeling romantic and looking graceful with a touch of whimsy. This Style Personality adores bows, ribbons, and ruffle details in her accessories and clothes. She is drawn to colors that are bright and soft; never one to wear an all black outfit. Floral motifs tend to be a favorite followed by polka dots and ditsy prints.  The Feminine Style Personality isn't as popular as the other 3 expressions, but is easily self-identified.

- You have an appreciation for 1950's Vintage clothing.

I spend a significant amount of time identifying and educating my clients on how to create consistency in their shopping habits and personal brand identity. Everything from texture, silhouette, and color are nonverbal visual cues into your style identity. 

Each week in February, I'll dedicate a post to each Style Personality's defining characteristics and aesthetics.  Most women can see elements of them self in each Style and think in terms of occasion.  A Style Personality is defined by the dominant emotion attached to how you want to feel and be perceived every time you get dressed. It determines your purchases, your brands, and the general curation of your wardrobe.
