Ministering Personal Style in a Womanist Ethic
I believe that personal style is the language of identity. When it is expressed without concern for fitting in, it finds community with others of shared values.
I believe fashion trends are the antithesis to personal style. Trends are rooted in consumerism and discourages authentic expression.
I believe memories are created in outfits.
I believe in building sustainable wardrobes full of loved items that reflect personal and social values.
I believe fast fashion is inherently destructive. It is created from greed and exploitation.
I believe in body shape diversity and honoring it's changes as opportunities of self exploration.
I believe personal style is a continuous, life long journey of self discovery.
I believe that a timeless wardrobe that coordinates with lifestyle needs is the beginning of great style.
My personal style philosophy was developed from over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry. As a merchandiser by education and profession, I have a trained eye for garment construction, color theory, and textile design. As a personal stylist, I bring this knowledge into each client experience, curating a wardrobe as if it were a boutique. I believe clothing is meant to last for at least a decade and my efforts as a personal stylist and vintage and resale purveyor are rooted in my belief in conscious purchasing and sustainability.
My ministry begins with meeting you where you are at in your personal style journey. That can be a detour caused by a life altering event that has impacted your self confidence, to a joyous new direction that requires a wardrobe to match. Education: FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising , LIM/Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, Fuller Theological Seminary
Professional Highlights: Los Angeles Business Journal Fashion Awards Nominee 2017 & 2018, Women's Foundation of California conference speaker, gender and orientation affirming womanist licenced minister (PAW/Pentecostal Assemblies of the World)
